"The Beech Marten (Martes foina), also known as the Stone Marten, is the most common species of marten in Central Europe. Beech martens are long, slender, short-legged predators with long, bushy tails. They grow to a size of 40 to 50cm in body length and weigh up to two kilograms. Their brown coats have a forked white marking at the throat, which distinguishes them in appearance from the Pine Marten whose throat marking is cream-coloured and more rounded.

Cute animals, really. But not so cute living in one's own attic.

Are you sure you have only got one of these pets? The young are born in March or April - which is about now!

Nosebears would be better pets anyhow, if you ask me.
One big advantage the Nasua Nasua has over the marten: it's active during the daytime and rests during the night. So human :-)
im a ferret breeder in australia , , you will not see the marten's as they are nocternal & timid , but they do run amock in atics basement's they chew soft electric cable insulation. they are quite out of control in rome , martens attack the wireing in alto's parked in the steets causeing lots of damage . ive herd of 1 marten damaging up too 100 cars in a single night , its hard to get insurance in rome & expensive , but as ferret breeder i think the martens would be a great pet just like a sable minx ferrets polecats mongoose & merkat, tame them and you got a pet for life but dont ever let it out they dont come back, they are not like cats ,cats home ferrets sable's & minx dont home they just keep exploring . all the best for your marten or marten's, you are so lucky .what a great pet ...
I just saw on your ticker that a visitor from Reno, Nevad (my hometown) visited your blog recently and viewed this post. So I just was too curious by the title and came to take a look. Then I had to take a look at the picture by following the link.....and I think that is a very darling little animal!!! I have never even heard of it before now.
