Microphilanthropy
On Monday, Bill Clinton opened the XVIII International AIDS-Conference in Vienna.

He introduced the concept of micro-contributions. Citizen-based initiatives like MassiveGood complement traditional help with new forms of funding. UNITAID has raised over $1 billion for the purchase of treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, financed by a small tax on airlines tickets in several countries.

Wow, fascinating. Seemed there was a lot going on in Vienna this week, as I heard on the news about a large demonstration there. Personally, I'd rather know more about the AIDS conference and microphilanthropy, so thank you for the links. :)
